Virtual Reality: from Silicon Valley to Treviso

--

Treviso, 25th february 2018

In the setting of a cold day, Qbit has held the first virtual reality tournament in Treviso. Three immersive workstations with HMDs and hand controllers allowed people experience this new technology that will revolutionize our experience with computers.

Nowadays, virtual reality is used for entertainment, but also to train new professions and teach in schools and universities more effectively and quickly.

Acceleration is indeed a fundamental element in our present and in the immediate future. Emerging technologies are defined as exponential because they allow an acceleration and an exponential growth if correctly applied in different contexts, from work, to society, to learning.

“It is for this acceleration capacity that we want to bring in our country technologies such as virtual reality, but also the block-chain, advanced robotics and Artificial Intelligence”, says Mattia Crespi, an Affiliated Researcher at the Institute For The Future, and founder of Qbit Technologies, a company operating in the virtual and augmented reality sector.

“In Italy, we tend to fear new technologies and to see often the negative aspects, but new technologies should be seen as opportunities and, in the case of our country, as the need for a system that needs a profound change. The change we would like to implement with our political group 10 Volte Meglio”.
